A good book inspires…imagine what a good library can do!!

The following poem is submitted by Miss Vanshika, a Longlongago member.

Flowers All Around!

Red is the rose,
Yellow is the sunflower,
just like the Sun.
White is the lilly,
which floats through the water,
just like lotus do.
flowers all around my house
flowers everywhere
flowers all around the world.

The reading habit is a lifetime gift for a child, because reading builds language, knowledge, concentration and intellect in children.

“Happy Readers” is a unique child-friendly enrichment program which will develop a desire for reading from various sources, look at reading as a more enjoyable experience and feel more proud about the learning that comes out of it. This is accomplished through a series of child friendly activities like

  1. Reading from various sources- Each day the trainer will cover different reading sources like different kind of story books/ informative books, tell me why books, journals etc..
  2. Book reading with dialogues, expressions, read alouds and interaction
  3. Book Quiz
  4. Book Reviews
  5. Authors Talk
  6. Making of bookmark, bookipedia, book making etc.

The pre-book and post book activities included in this workshop is what it makes it unique.

A pre book activity may include some dialogues about what is this book about,(understanding the title) talking about authors, appreciation of the illustration., why this book has been written etc.The child’s imagination is made to work here

A post book activity will make sure that the joy of reading is put into action by drawing, sticking pictures and writing things about what they read. The learnings from the book are reinforced through this activity

Children’s library coming to Erode & Tirupur

Posted in notifications on February 9th, 2011 by admin – 1 Comment

We are constantly increasing our customer base and we always get additional requests to service other areas as far as Pune & Mumbai. We couldn’t cater all the service requests at this time.

We have been doing trial runs to Tirupur & Erode for a while and we are happy with the logistics arrangement we have made. For our initial customers we have levied an additional surcharge and they were more than happy to pay for the surcharge to get the books. We made an agreement with our logistics provider to cater to these areas as well.

Now we are excited to announce that we extend our service area to Tirupur & Erode at the same cost as other subscribers without any surcharge.

Call our coimbatore office if you need any further information at Tel: 80562-36199

You can visit our website and register and pay online using NetBanking, Credit Cards or Debit Cards and you will get your books shipped the same day if you register by 16:00 hrs.

You can always send us a mail at info at longlongago.in

How to call an online library?

Posted in notifications on August 25th, 2010 by admin – 9 Comments

Our library has gone live (opened for public!) for some months and we have greeted with enthusiastic reactions online and we were featured in the ‘The Hindu – Young World’ and we have been deluged by mails since then. One of the most asked questions was where can we visit the library and whom we can reach to talk about it.
Call online
Surely we were not prepared for this as we are busy stocking the library with good children’s books.

So how to call an online library ?!?

When we started with the idea for the library we know we wanted the complete collection catalogued online as online provides a certain advantages over physical library. There is a good reason why every physical library has an online booking functionality. Search & recommendations are integral part in finding a good book.

We realized the library has generated good interest in the public but also generated many questions simply the FAQ was not enough. People wanted to talk to a real person.

So we are taking calls now.

From now you can call us between 10:00 to 19:00 in the following numbers
